The Plant City Police Department's K-9 Unit consists of German Shepherd dogs.  Their superior sense of smell and hearing result in both time savings and higher rates of arrest.  The dogs are trained for:
  • Obedience
  • Handler protection
  • Tracking
  • Building searches
  • Detection of narcotics

Thanks to the kind donations of Plant City citizens and the VFW, we currently have three bullet proof vest for our dogs  These are invaluable in the protection of our dogs when it is necessary to send them into a situation involving firearms.
