LIBRARIAN I

Minimum: $15.58 Hr.
 LIBRARY Masters Degree in Library Science from a university accredited by the American Library Association. Some Library experience preferred. Knowledge of reader interest levels; reference and cataloging procedures and practices. Excellent communication skills a must. Computer literacy necessary. Some evening and weekend work required.

 BRUTON MEMORIAL LIBRARY Qualified candidates will hold a Master's Degree in Library Science from a university program accredited by the American Library Association and a minimum of four (4) years of library experience, including two or more years at a supervisory level. This position organizes library services and programs, prepares an annual operating budget and recommends policy on hours of operation, fines, fees and other public regulations for approval by the City Manager. Successful candidates will demonstrate a track record of collaborative efforts with boards, support groups and other community organizations utilizing strong customer service principles.

This position involves responsible administrative and supervisory work in directing the activities and operations of the City library. The Director establishes procedures and priorities for acquiring, cataloguing, classifying, processing, shelving, mending, discarding and replacement of library materials. The Director determines staff work and training arrangements, prepares work schedules and supervises employees in the acquisition, cataloguing and circulating of books, periodicals and other literature.

H.S. /GED. Valid FL Driver’s License. 1 yr. experience or training related to mechanical and electrical projects. Assist crew leader with the maintenance and repair of lift station and/or wells. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical tools. Works in various weather conditions and at heights over 150 feet.

UTILITIES MAINTENANCE

H.S. /GED. Valid FL Driver’s License.  Assist crew leader with the installation of sewer service laterals, sewer clean-outs, sewer main lines, manholes, etc.. Assist in repairing of sewer services and sewer main lines.  Works in various weather conditions.  Must obtain a Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement within 6 months of employment.

UTILITIES MAINTENANCE  H.S. /GED. Class D FL CDL.  General mechanical ability for the installation and repairs associated with water collection and distribution systems.  Able to operate maintenance tools and other equipment.  Ability to lift 50 lbs.  Works in various weather conditions.   Will be required to obtain a Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement and qualify for on-call duty.

Ability to operate various equipment, such as backhoe, loader, dump truck, ditch witch, road and chop saws and other related equipment. Ability to read blue prints and geological mapping and suggesting functional changes. Possess level III distribution system license.

Responsible for the installation of sewer lines, sewer services laterals, sewer main lines and all related tasks. Ability to operate various equipment, such as backhoe, loader, dump truck, ditch witch, road and chop saws and other related equipment. Experience in the set up of pipe lasers and transit. Ability to read and make functional changes on blueprints. Ability to pour and finish concrete.

 SANITATION Valid State Identification.Heavy manual labor work in the collection and disposal of refuse. Physical strength, stamina and ability to perform lifting, loading, bending, and other manual work. Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. Works in various weather conditions.
     
TELECOMMUNICATOR I

 POLICE
H.S. /GED. 1 yr. experience in general clerical work or telephone operation required.  Able to make independent judgments concerning life threatening situations; excellent oral communications a must; ability to receive calls/complaints concerning emergency service and record them.  Weekend, holiday and rotating shift work required.  Ability to type 30 wpm required.
     
TRAFFIC MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST I

Minimum: $11.02 Hr.
 
 TRAFFIC H.S. /GED. Valid FL Driver’s License. Sign Fabricator. 2 years experience in construction trades. General mechanical ability for the installation and maintenance of signs, signals, striping and markings. Able to operate Minimum maintenance tools and equipment. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Works in various weather conditions. Must obtain I.M.S.A. Traffic Safety in the Work Area Certification within 6 months of employment. Must also obtain an I.M.S.A. Level I Signs Certification within the first year of employment.
     
WELDER -
FABRICATOR III

 H.S /GED. Valid Fl Class A (CDL) Driver’s License. 5 yrs. experience in duties typical of welding, fabrication, metal design and restoration, hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand soldering and brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Ability to work in repairing, maintaining and construction work of City buildings, facilities and equipment. Ability to prepare and maintain records, understand and work from job specs, ability to follow oral and written instructions, operate and perform routine maintenance of tools /machinery, and equipment. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. when necessary.  Works inside and out-of-doors in various weather / environmental conditions.
