EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I

Minimum: $10.22 Hr.

PARKS

H.S. /GED. Valid FL Driver’s License. Ability to perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance and upkeep of tree trimming, park areas and labouring tasks as assigned. Ability to operate heavy equipment, i.e., backhoe, tractor, bush hog, wood chipper, etc., as well as perform routine maintenance to the equipment Ability to lift 50 pounds. Works outside in various weather conditions and at heights up to 60 feet. Must obtain a Class B CDL within six months.

     
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I (ASSISTANT OF JET-VAC)

Minimum: $10.22Hr.

 UTILITIES MAINTENANCE H.S. /GED.  Valid Fl Driver’s License.  Assists operator of the vac truck with inspection and cleaning of sewer lines, laterals, lift stations, interceptors, and flushing clean out.  Assists in the setup, breakdown and operation of sewer cleaning equipment.  Ability to work in and around underground utilities.  Ability to lift 50 pounds.  Works outside in various weather conditions and at heights up to 150 feet. Must obtain a Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement within six months.
     
FACILITIES/EVIDENCE TECHNICIAN

Minimum: $12.86 Hr.
POLICE   H. S. /GED. Valid FL Driver’s License. Previous experience dealing with inventories and complex records. Exemplary background a must. Assists officers, attorneys and detectives in regard to evidence. Able to gain knowledge of local and state laws that pertain to evidence. Skilled in inputting and retrieving data from a computer.  Must take a typing test. 
     
GENERAL MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST I

Minimum: $11.91 Hr.
 GENERAL SERVICES H.S /GED. Valid FL Driver’s License. 2 yrs experience in Utilities and/or Public Works. Skilled work in repairing, maintaining and construction work of City buildings and facilities. Ability to prepare and maintain records, operate Minimum maintenance tools /machinery, and equipment. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Works in various weather conditions.
     
GROUNDSKEEPER I



Starting
Minimum: $10.22 Hr.

PARKS

Valid FL Driver's License. Semi-skilled and manual work in maintaining  various grounds, fields, and parks by performing mowing, weeding, etc. Some experience in landscaping and irrigation helpful.  Works in various weather conditions at heights to 15 ft.  Works with insecticides/herbicides.

$54,330.00 – 81,495.00
 BRUTON MEMORIAL LIBRARY Qualified candidates will hold a Master's Degree in Library Science from a university program accredited by the American Library Association and a minimum of four (4) years of library experience, including two or more years at a supervisory level. This position organizes library services and programs, prepares an annual operating budget and recommends policy on hours of operation, fines, fees and other public regulations for approval by the City Manager. Successful candidates will demonstrate a track record of collaborative efforts with boards, support groups and other community organizations utilizing strong customer service principles.

This position involves responsible administrative and supervisory work in directing the activities and operations of the City library. The Director establishes procedures and priorities for acquiring, cataloguing, classifying, processing, shelving, mending, discarding and replacement of library materials. The Director determines staff work and training arrangements, prepares work schedules and supervises employees in the acquisition, cataloguing and circulating of books, periodicals and other literature.

Assist in repairing of sewer services and sewer main lines.  Works in various weather conditions.  Must obtain a Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement within 6 months of employment.

Responsible work in the basic operation and maintenance of the City’s fire hydrants, installing locator reflectors in the road, locating and operating hydrant and mainline valves.  Ability to keep records of maintenance and testing performed.  Must obtain a Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement and qualify for on-call duty.

Responsible for the installation of sewer lines, sewer services laterals, sewer main lines and all related tasks. Ability to operate various equipment, such as backhoe, loader, dump truck, ditch witch, road and chop saws and other related equipment. Experience in the set up of pipe lasers and transit. Ability to read and make functional changes on blueprints. Ability to pour and finish concrete.

 STORMWATER H.S. /GED. Class B Florida CDL, Class C Stormwater License. 2 yrs.. experience in medium/heavy equipment operation. Responsible work in maintaining and repairing stormwater drainage system, streets, and rights-of-way. Ability to prepare and maintain records, as well as lead the work crew. Will be required to qualify for on-call duty.
     
TELECOMMUNICATOR I

 POLICE
H.S. /GED. 1 yr. experience in general clerical work or telephone operation required.  Able to make independent judgments concerning life threatening situations; excellent oral communications a must; ability to receive calls/complaints concerning emergency service and record them.  Weekend, holiday and rotating shift work required.  Ability to type 30 wpm required.

There is one (1) vacancy to be filled.  The new hire will be classified in one of the positions listed below, dependent upon the new hire’s qualifications.  All positions require shift work for the continuous coverage of the water and wastewater plants.

UTILITIES OPERATIONS  H.S. /GED.  Valid Fl Driver’s License.  Trains in water treatment facilities, leading to certification by the State of Florida as a Certified Operator.  Assists licensed operators in all plant duties.  Ability to record data, perform lab tests.  Collects water and wastewater samples and conducts operational control tests.  Laboratory experience helpful. Good mechanical skills.  Job requires shift work for continuous coverage of the water and wastewater plants.  Must obtain a Class “C” Wastewater License within 2 years.

Valid Fl Driver’s License. 1 yr experience in plant operations.  Must have a class “C” Water OR Wastewater Operations License.  Ability to record data, perform lab tests.  Collects water and wastewater samples and conducts operational control tests.  Monitors control panels and adjusts valves.  Records meter and gauge readings.  If Certified Operator not available, trainee candidate and single license holders will be considered. Laboratory experience helpful.  Job requires shift work for continuous coverage of the water and wastewater plants.

 UTILITIES OPERATIONS H.S. /GED. Valid Fl Driver’s License. Minimum 2 yrs. experience in plant operations.  Must possess a Class “C” Water Plant Operations License AND  a Class “C” Wastewater Plant Operations License.  Advanced knowledge of water treatment, wastewater treatment, and reclaimed water plant operations, policies, procedures, and methods. Manual and mechanical work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility in connection with water/ wastewater plant operations, as a licensed plant operator.  Ability to record data, perform lab tests. Collects water and wastewater samples and conducts operational control tests.  Monitors control panels and adjusts valves.  Records meter and gauge readings.  Job requires shift work for continuous coverage of the water/wastewater plants.
