Kim D. Leinbach was appointed to serve as Interim City Manager effective on May 25, 2017.
Kim comes to Plant City with over 45 years of local government and administrative experience including most recently as the Interim City Manager for the City of Mount Dora, Florida from February to August 2016 and Special Assistant to the Hillsborough County Administrator from November 2013 to October 2015.
His previous City Manager experience includes: City of Temple Terrace, Florida from January 1999 to April 2013; City of Madeira Beach, Florida from November 1995 to January 1999: City of Atlantic Beach, Florida from July 1989 to November 1995; City of Green Cove Springs, Florida from October 1986 to July 1989; City of Coralville, Iowa from July 1985 to October 1986; and City of Manchester, Iowa from August 1979 to July 1985. Kim began his city management career as the Administrative Assistant to the City Manager in the City of West Des Moines, Iowa from November 1971 to August 1979.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Kim is a life member of the International City Management Association (ICMA) and the Florida City County Management Association. He was among the first 70 candidates worldwide to achieve recognition as a Credentialed Manager for the ICMA.
